LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) is a unique and innovative workshop method that combines play with professional development. LEGO® team designed LSP to help individuals and teams tap into their creativity and problem-solving skills, as well as foster collaboration and communication. In LSP workshops, participants build models and prototypes and tell stories using LEGO® bricks, which are then used to facilitate discussions, explore complex topics, and find solutions to challenges.

The Setting of LSP Workshops
LSP workshops are typically conducted in a relaxed, non-traditional setting, with participants seated at tables surrounded by LEGO® bricks. We begin the workshop by introducing the topic, setting the stage for the participants to start building and sharing their creations. There will be a variety of LEGO® bricks, figures, and accessories available for participants to use, allowing for unlimited creative possibilities.
Building and Storytelling
One of the key elements of LSP work
shops is the building of models and the telling of stories. There is a huge emphasis on using metaphors. Participants are encouraged to build and share their creations, which serve as visual representations of their thoughts, ideas, and perspectives. The facilitator may guide the building process with questions or prompts, helping participants to think more deeply about the topic at hand. After building their models, participants are then invited to share their stories, which help to bring their creations to life.
Discussion and Reflection
Once the models and stories have been shared, the facilitator will facilitate a discussion among the participants. This discussion is a key part of the LSP process, as it allows participants to share their perspectives, consider other people's perspectives, and explore solutions to the challenges at hand. Participants are also encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and learnings during the workshop. This stage is often where the real breakthroughs happen, as participants gain new insights, build deeper connections, and find new ways of thinking about their challenges.
